## General Description  
Location: Abu Ghosoun is situated 80km S of Mersa Alam.  
General overview: The port receives vessels for phosphate shipping with capacity up to 50,000 mt. There is a small breakwater, two lightbuoys, a turning buoy and a light beacon on top of the breakwater. The port is mainly considered a mining port as minerals such as ore, phosphate, quartz, feldspar and aluminate are transported from the production sites. A conveyor belt is used for the loading of vessels.
